The board of Tata Sons has shocked corporate India by sacking Cyrus Mistry as chairman. It is believed that the relationship between Mr Mistry and Ratan Tata had got strained and that the latter had expressed his unhappiness over some of Mr Mistry’s decisions and his style of functioning. With the new selection board having just four months to find a successor, it is questionable whether it will find an experienced hand to take over such a sprawling empire so quickly.
