Dipa Karmakar might have come fourth in the the women’s vault final in the Olympics, but she has won hearts of millions of Indians with her outstanding performance and sheer hardwork. That she qualified for the final eight and pushed her rank up to come fourth is an achievement in itself. Also, her Produnova — the toughest vault which is rated a “7.0” on the difficulty scale — is often referred to as “death vault” and it is a symbol of the obstacles she jumped over to reach the final four.
