Even as the family members of Mulayam Singh Yadav are involved in a power struggle, it seems that the SP leaders know that they will not be able to win the Assembly elections on their own. What else could one infer from chief minister Akhilesh Yadav referring to Rahul Gandhi as “my friend” Only if the Congress and the SP join hands can it put up a fight against the BSP and BJP. Together, the Congress and SP can fight the BJP like the JD(U) and the RJD did in Bihar. If they stick together, they have a chance to win.
