Unhappy with NDA

Apropos to Sidharth Bhatia’s Protests: A mourning for achche din (April 23), the spontaneous protests triggered by the arbitrary restrictions imposed on the Employees’ Provident Fund were another manifestation of the people’s disenchantment with BJP’s rhetoric of “achche din” and “Sabka saath sabka vikas”. Clearly the subsidies and streamlining of the process of setting up industries is not balanced by labour reforms. Job creation by giving a fillip to new industries would be meaningless without job security. The Centre must not treat the service class as a pushover.
