Time to govern J&K

Having assumed office as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples’ Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti should now proceed to take charge of governance in its true sense in the restive state. Instead of fearing her ally, the BJP, Ms Mufti should stand up to them, asking them to rein in the extreme fringe, while herself keeping a strict check on separatist elements in Kashmir. The mandate of the PDP-BJP government was clear from the start — development and good governance.
