News about match-fixing in international tennis has come as a disappointment to fans. According to the BBC, 16 of the world’s top 50 players have been involved in match-fixing. Tennis player Novak Djokovic, too, has admitted being offered $200,000 to lose a match at the
St. Petersburg Open in Russia. While match-fixing is not a new phenomenon, one feels betting on sports should be legalised so that the authorities can monitor it. This will help keep sport clean.
