Sensible ruling

It is true that the Congress government in Uttarakhand was operating through a wafer-thin majority, but the BJP was wrong to fan the political crisis started by the Congress’ rebel MLAs. Thankfully, the Uttarakhand high court ordered a floor test that was denied by the Centre, which was quick to impose President’s Rule in the state. Now, a larger bench has changed the single-judge order. It makes one wonder why it always falls to the courts to restore balance and give perspective to the Constitution
