Reduce troops

Your editorial, Death of a warrior (Feb.12), about the agonising death of Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad brings to mind the Bob Dylan song Blowin’ in the wind and especially the lines: “How many times must the cannon balls fly/Before they are forever banned ” For how long will the Siachen Glacier remain a graveyard for our brave soldiers We need to find a practical diplomatic solution to the inevitable threat of casualties given the inhospitable environment of Siachen.
