Not fruitful for us

This is with reference to your editorial, Don’t cut ties in art, cricket (Sept. 25). Use of cultural affinities for promoting people-to-people relationships is a laudable step, but it will work if other favourable factors are present. Pakistan is ruled de facto by the Army, which gives no space to public opinion. People there are also under the spell of fundamentalists who harbour terrorists. So, any improvement in the relationship would not translate into beneficial results for India.
