Modi fudging facts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s misstated facts while referring to Vijay Mallya’s involvement in the Rs 9,000 crore bank loan default. He said, “My government has tightened the screws on the bank defaulters. They are sweating due to fear of going to jail and are fleeing.” Mr Modi is misguiding the public as Mr Mallya’s escape was a result of the Supreme Court pressuring him to pay his loans. In fact, the Modi government facilitated his escape by delaying the petition to seize Mr Mallya’s passport. Mr Modi should refrain from misrepresentating facts.
