The death of a 14-year-old dalit girl, who was a victim of repeated rape, raises a question mark on the kind of safeguards in place to protect a rape victim from those who would attack her repeatedly. While the accused in this case was arrested twice, clearly there was no follow-up to check on his activities. This is the second incident of repeat rape after a dalit girl was raped again in Rohtak by men who had raped her three years ago. Rape victims must be given protection because they are vulnerable.
