J&K needs peace

With reference to the Age Debate (The gateway to peace, September 1), it is important for the Centre to realise that the separatists are a major stakeholder in Jammu and Kashmir and they can act as the dealbreakers. This is the ground reality and there’s no harm in accepting this. The government must hold talks with the separatists. A repeat of the informal talks that some Opposition MPs held with separatists in 2010 could be a good starting point. Any method or route that could usher in peace in the Valley should be tried by the government.
