Errant neighbour

Pakistan high commissioner Abdul Basit’s announcement that Pakistan had “suspended” the dialogue with India is a slap on our face. Prime Minister Narendra Modi even allowed Pakistan’s joint investigation team to visit India to probe the Pathankot attack, in an an attempt to reach out to our neighbour. Yet Pakistan persists in its mistrust of India. It is time Mr Modi realised that his attempts to engage Pakistan in constructive dialogue are futile as our unruly neighbour continues with its devious diplomacy.
