As the security forces battled terrorists in Pathankot, the public questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s judgment in rebuilding bridges with Pakistan. It is these misgivings that terrorists and forces hostile to better bilateral ties are looking to induce. The governments of India and Pakistan must attempt to look at Pathankot as an obstacle to be surmounted in the quest for lasting peace. Mr Modi must stay the course charted out in Lahore.
