As politics over Rohith Vemula’s suicide continues, with protests and visits of politicians at Hyderabad University campus, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also jumped into the fray. While asking for the resignations of ministers is acceptable, Mr Kejriwal’s demand to include Union minister Smriti Irani’s name in the FIR in connection with the death is too far-fetched. If he is accusing Ms Irani of turning the event into a caste issue and playing dirty politics, what was Mr Kejriwal doing in Hyderabad He, too, was playing politics over the death of a student.
