Debate’s not over

Finance minister Arun Jaitley, during an interaction with journalists, has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the “ideological debate” on nationalism. He laid the blame for the alleged anti-national slogans raised in JNU on February 9 at the Left’s door while rejecting the clear role of two Union ministers in pushing dalit Ph.D. scholar Rohith Vemula to suicide. Mr Jaitley is trying to pat his own back on winning a debate that is still on and shall only grow larger with each misstep by his government.
