This is with reference to your editorial, Cauvery row: Rein in fringe trouble-makers (Sept. 13). A major cause of disputes between states over sharing of natural resources arise from the disappearing need in the country for looking at such problems in the national interest with a mutually helpful attitude. That the matter is being dealt with by the Supreme Court rather than the people’s representatives tells the depth to which the national perspective has reached.
