‘U.P. Udgosh’, an event where Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi fielded questions from the party’s district, block and booth-level workers in Uttar Pradesh, was a refreshing change from the patronising approach towards party cadres in the past. The Congress’ preparation for next year’s Assembly polls — from declaring the party president to declaring the chief ministerial candidate — is indeed a step towards its revival in the state.
