By standing in the way of India’s NSG membership bid while supporting Pakistan’s membership of the NSG, China is clearly playing favourites, albeit wrongly. Unlike India, Pakistan’s record as a nuclear supplier has been dubious since the founder of its atomic energy programme illegally provided nuclear missile technology to states like North Korea. China must choose sides wisely.
