Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to nations to drop the misplaced notion of “his terrorist is not my terrorist” during his speech at the White House assumes significance after China vetoed India’s bid to ban Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar, the mastermind behind the Pathankot attack. China cited lack of sufficient facts and vetoed the proposal. But the Pathankot attack was directed at the Air Force base. China is also threatened by Uighur radicals. But its veto overlooks this fact.
