The Ishrat Jahan encounter case continues to haunt the Congress. The then home minister, P. Chidambaram, is facing criticism for rewriting a second affidavit in the 2004 case. And now R.V.S. Mani, former under-secretary in the home ministry, has opened Pandora’s box by saying that he was coerced to file the second affidavit. This shows how debased our politicians have become. They choose to play politics over the life of a chief minister. This is yet another case of Congress going hammer and tongs to demolish the image of Narendra Modi.
