Article 356 fiasco

The Uttarakhand high court division bench gave a landmark judgment in reversing President’s Rule. This is unprecedented. But the Supreme Court stayed it till April 27. The Centre’s undertaking that it won’t remove President’s Rule before the apex court passes its judgment spoils the Bharatiya Janata Party’s plan to make a flash-in-the-pan government in Uttarakhand. The Centre will now think twice before implementing Article 356 on flimsy grounds.
