All clear for GST

With the model GST bill having been cleared by the empowered committee of state finance ministers, the bill seems ready to be tabled in the Monsoon Session of Parliament. The Centre seems more confident of its passage, spreading the news that all states except Tamil Nadu are on board for the bill’s passage. With the PM having met Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa who handed him a wishlist, that obstacle too seems to be out of the way. It seems the GST was fated to be passed by the NDA.
