Akhilesh in trouble

The Samajwadi Party’s infighting will give its rivals — the BSP, BJP and the Congress — fodder to criticise the Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh. SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s has openly said that his son “Akhilesh has ruined the Samajwadi Party” (Mulayam slams son, sides with Shivpal, August 15). Moreover, he voiced support for his younger brother Shivpal Singh, at an Independence Day cerlebration nin Lucknow. If the SP wants to put up a tough fight in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections due early next year, then it needs to immediately end this inner tussle and work towards improving its image.
