Mark Siegel — an important witness in former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto murder case — has agreed to be cross-questioned over his statement in the case and will be cross-questioned on January 20.

The US journalist and a close aide of Benazir Bhutto will appear in court through a video link. The video link system has been installed in Pakistani embassy in Washington.

An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi directed the lawyers of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf to cross-examine Mr Siegel on January 20.

The court also issued notices to barrister Farogh Naseem and advocate Ilyas Siddiqui, the counsels for Mr Musharraf, in this regard. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till January 20.

Earlier, the court was told that the government has made all the arrangements for cross-examination of Mr Siegel by Mr Musharraf’s lawyers at the commissioner office Rawalpindi on January 20.

The trial court has fixed the date of January 20 on the request of Mr Siegel. Advocate Farooq H Naek was sitting along with Mr Siegel on October 1, 2015 when he testified before the court.
