Pakistan has executed 17 high-profile terrorists since the December 16, 2014 attack on Army Public School in Peshawar that killed scores of people — mostly children, official record suggests.

The terrorists who were executed were found involved in different acts of terrorism including attacks on military installations and security agencies.

The document also lists the names of seven other terrorists whose appeals are still pending in the Supreme Court and the high court after they were awarded capital punishment by the military and anti-terrorism courts.

Appeals of five terrorists Kamran, Ihsan Azeem, Asif Maroof, Aamir Yousaf and Nadeem were pending in the Supreme Court.

Appeals of another two terrorists, Lance Naik Ghulam Nabi and a civilian Abdul Malik were pending in the high court.

Most of the executions took place during the month of January 2015, the month succeeding the Army Public School incident, which had sent shockwaves across Pakistan.
