Uttar Pradesh: Slain girl may be victim of necrophilia

The murder and rape of a 17-year-old schoolgirl, whose body was found on February 15 near the chief minister’s residence, has started throwing up disturbing facts about the psychology of the alleged accused persons.

The two rickshaw pullers, Sadguru and Deepu who have been sent to jail and the two caddies from a posh Golf Club Nasir and Samuel who have been detained by the police, have admitted to having raped the girl’s corpse for two days after she was murdered.

All the four accused, who are drug addicts, have admitted to having sexually assaulted the girl and continued to defile her body even after her death.

“They stopped having sex with the body only when it stiffened and began decomposing. The four would sit near the body and consume drugs in the thickets,” said an investigating officer, however, they are denying murdering her.

Samuel and Nasir were named by the two rickshaw-pullers, Sadguru (50) and Deepu (23) whom the police had arrested on Monday.

The post-mortem report has found that the girl died due to excessive bleeding from her private parts.

However, no traces of blood were seen at the spot where her body was found which means that she was raped and murdered elsewhere and her body was later dumped at the place where it was found.

“The magnitude of violence is intense and assailants were very aggressive with the minor girl. Severe injuries were present on both vaginal and anal areas”, said Dr Abhas Kumar Singh, a forensic expert.

A senior police official said that this was probably the first case of necrophilia (sexual act involving corpse) in the state capital and also reflected a disturbing trend among criminals. “All four accused are confirmed drug addicts and it is probably under the influence of drugs that they had sex with the corpse which was in a state of decomposition. We are trying to find out which are the drugs which instigate necrophilia and whether the accused took these drugs”, the officer said. The police are now trying to scientifically establish that the girl was sexually assaulted and murdered by cross matching the male chromosome found on her with DNA samples of the accused persons.
