The RSS is scheduled to hold a three-day long meeting of its pracharaks, who have been deputed in the BJP, both at the Central- level and state units. This meeting, sources said, will see RSS top brass reiterating about the “responsibilities and task” its pracharaks have to peform when deputed in the BJP. RSS top brass, sources said, receive many complaints against its pracharks indulging in both factionalism and favouritism, two issues which both the BJP and the RSS have been desperately trying to contain in the organisation. This meeting could also see RSS naming its pracharak to head its Goa unit, whose former chief Subhas Velingkar was sacked for raising voice against the state government over the medium of instruction issue and entering politics.

Ahead of this meeting, the RSS top brass, including its chief Mohan Bhagwat, will hold a crucial meeting of Sangh Parivar affiliates, including the BJP, in Udaipur, Rajasthan on September 8-9. Organisation secretaries and their deputies in the BJP and its state units are RSS pracharks.

This three day long “Abyas Varg” at Surajkund near the national capital from September 10 will see RSS top brass reviewing organisational activities. The meeting could also see some organisation secretaries getting replaced or appointed. The RSS is yet to decide a name of its prachark to be send as the organisation secretary of BJP’s Rajasthan unit.

Strengthing the organisation is another issue that could be discussed in this pracharaks meeting. This issue was the focus point of three meetings of BJP leaders addressed by both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, the RSS has debunked Mr Velingkar’s claims that many RSS workers have resigned and the local RSS unit will function independently of the parent body.

“No unit of RSS can dissociate from a Prant on its own. It is a decision of Kendra (centre). Goa unit of RSS is and will remain a vibhag (cell) in Konkan prant. New office bearers of Goa vibhag will be announced shortly,” RSS all-India communications department head Manmohan Vaidya said.
