President Police Medals for 26 CBI officers
Twenty-six officers of the CBI have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service by President Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of Republ
Twenty-six officers of the CBI have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service by President Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of Republic Day.
Rajiv Singh, a 1993-batch IPS officer of Tripura cadre, has been chosen for President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Mr Singh heads the special investigation team probing the multi-crore Saradha scam. Ms Lata Manoj Kumar, a 2000-batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre, probing the high-profile Sheena Bora murder case, has been chosen for Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Her batchmate Umesh Chander Datta, also from Rajasthan cadre, involved in investigating Sunped incident in which two dalit infants were killed and the mysterious death of IAS D.K. Ravi has also been selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Deputy IG with the STF of the CBI N.M. Singh, a direct recruit to the agency who is handling the corruption case involving a Noida engineer, has been chosen for President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Other officers chosen for President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service are joint director Anurag Garg, additional SP S.S. Kishore and Sanjay Kewalkrishan Sareen and deputy SP Sandip Ghosh.
Besides Ms Kumar and Mr Datta, the officers selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service are DIGs Manish Kumar Sinha, V. Chandrasekhar, additional SP Shah Nawaz Khan, deputy SPs N.R. Thakur, M.T. Mang, Alok Kumar, inspectors Ram Prakash Sharma, D.J. Bajpei, sub-inspector Arun Kumar Shukla, assistant sub-inspectors Wasan Singh, Rajeshwar Singh Rana, Perumal Ramakrishnan, head constables Narpat Singh, Subhash Chandra, head constable, constables Champa Devi, office superintendent Rajinder Singh, crime assistant Arjun Prasad, and constable Raj Kumar.
