NDA will win big mandate: Modi

Kolkata: Campaigning in West Bengal for the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday tore into the Opposition, calling them “anti-development” and “corrupt”. Leading the charge for the BJP at poll rallies in the eastern states, Modi asserted that the voters in the country have already decided to give a massive mandate to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and there will once again be a stable and progressive government at the Centre.

Addressing his last poll rally in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in Mathurapur of South 24 Parganas, Modi accused the Trinamul Congress and its I.N.D.I.A. bloc partners of pushing West Bengal in the opposite direction of development. He also tore into chief minister Mamata Banerjee's party for subverting the Constitution for politics of appeasement, for being anti-OBCs and for trying to settle the infiltrators instead of eligible Hindu migrants in the state.

Modi alleged: “The TMC and the I.N.D.I.A. jamaat are taking Bengal in the opposite direction of development. The TMC can't tolerate Bengal's love for the BJP. So much so that it has started hating Bengal and is resorting to only one weapon it is left with and that is obstructing all Central government schemes in the state. The TMC says -- Eta hote debo na (Won't allow it to happen) to all developmental schemes by the BJP-led Centre.”

Modi claimed: “The TMC has now started attacking the Constitution openly for its politics of appeasement. Our Constitution has given reservations to the Dalit and OBC categories of people. But in Bengal, an open loot of that reservation is happening. Fake OBC certificates are made for Muslims. The OBC communities’ rights are snatched and given to the Muslims. The Calcutta high court cancelled these certificates. As the TMC can't ignore the order, it is lying to the Muslims and misleading them.”

On the illegal infiltration, Modi pointed out, “The infiltrators are looting the opportunities of the youth of Bengal. They are grabbing your land and properties. Why did the TMC oppose the CAA and lie about it so much? Because they want to settle the infiltrators here instead of the Hindu migrants, including Matuas. But you don't need to worry. After June 4, these gimmicks of the TMC will be stopped. The Matua and Namasudra communities will certainly get their rights.”

Reaching out to the fishermen community of the Sundarbans, Modi said, “Lakhs of them here face losses because of the arrogance of the TMC. The Central government runs so many welfare schemes for them. We also allocated a fund over Rs 20,000 crores for them. But the TMC government is not allowing its implementation."

"As a result, fishermen face problems in claiming insurance. But the TMC doesn't care about you. It only thinks of its Tolabaj (extortionists) and cut-money system. Our government sent funds to stop river erosion here, but the TMC pocketed them. Its sole agenda in everything is cut-money."
