Legislators seek own HC for Telangana

New Delhi: Seeking a separate high court for the newly created Telangana state, legislators from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Wednesday repeatedly disrupted the proceedings of Lok Sabha for most part of the day.

Later, law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad assured the agitating MPs that he will make a statement on the matter in the Lower House on December 28.

Led by A.P. Jithender Reddy, the TRS MPs repeatedly entered the well of the House, holding placards seeking a separate high court even as Congress MPs disrupted the proceedings over the controversial comments made by Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde on the Constitution. Later in the evening, law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the House that he will make a statement on the matter on Thursday.
