Guwahati: The first cabinet expansion of the BJP government in Assam has lead to revolt like situation with veteran BJP leaders expressing their displeasure openly before the media while accusing Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal of failing to keep the balance of community wise representation in his council of ministers.

The first expansion of the BJP led alliance government, which took place on Thursday with inclusion seven new ministers included a former Bodo militant, student leader, folk singer, RSS worker and two ex-Congressmen.

If a sense of displeasure was prevailing among the Hindi speaking population for not getting their representative in the state cabinet, the only Muslim BJP MLA Aminul Haque Laskar said that his party has discriminated Barrak Valley by not giving another minister in his cabinet. He said that people are also questioning that there is none-to represent the Muslim community in the first BJP government in the state.

When seven ministers were taking oath at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati, three-time BJP MLA Mr Prashanta Phukan was announcing his resignation at Dibrugarh in Upper Assam from all the responsibility that party had given him for the coming panchayat elections in the state.
