Congress wants FIR on Hardik Rs 1,200 crore claim

New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday backed the claim of Patidar leader Hardik Patel that he was offerred Rs 1,200 crores.

Congress spokesman Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi demanded that an FIR should immediately be lodged against the BJP national president Amit Shah, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani and others.

He also urged the Election Commission to probe into the allegations and publish the findings of bribery cases.

Dr Singhvi also recalled the allegations made by Narendra Patel, aide of Mr Hardik, that he was offered Rs 1 crore for switching loyalties. However the BJP had rubbished the claims made by Mr Narendra.

The Congress also demanded that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi should speak on the issue as he claims ‘na khaoonga, na khane doonga”.

Dr Singhvi further alleged, “The BJP is shamelessly indulging in alleged acts of bribery, horse trading, misuse of money and muscle power, coercion and threats. We reiterate our demand for registering FIR in the one-month-old case. We ask registration of FIR in the Rs 1,200 crore complaint made last night with specific names and details.” Mr. Hardik that he was offered a sum of Rs 1200 crores from a top government official when he was in jail.
