New Delhi: A tweet by Delhi Opposition leader Vijender Gupta on Sunday provided fresh ammunition to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to accuse BJP of hatching a conspiracy to kill Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, an allegation earlier made by the AAP chief himself.

In his tweet, Gupta had said, "Before the slapgate on May 4, @ArvindKejriwal asked the liaison officer to lift the security cover from his vehicle. The chief minister's instruction is registered in the daily diary entry (of the police). Since I had disclosed about it, AAP could not get electoral gain of the incident. Out of frustration, Kejriwal says PSO reports to BJP."

Citing Gupta's tweet, AAP, in a press statement, said, "Now it is clear that BJP has been behind all the attacks on Arvind Kejriwal. It got certified by Delhi Opposition leader Vijender Gupta tweet."

Quoting Gupta's tweet, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, "BJP is conspiring to get the CM killed. This tweet by @Gupta_vijender has proved that the BJP is getting the daily security plan of the CM and it is hatching a conspiracy to kill the CM on this basis. Vijender Gupta is also a part of this conspiracy."

Chief Minister Kejriwal, in turn, quoted Sisodia's tweet to say, "Why BJP wants to get me killed? What have I done? I am not constructing schools and hospitals for the people of the country."

"This is the first time when a positive politics has started on schools and hospitals in the country. BJP wants to finish it. But I will fight till my last breath," Kejriwal added.

The AAP, in the press release, questioned how the BJP leader managed to get his hands on the daily diary of the security force responsible for the Chief Minister's security.

"The tweet by Vijender Gupta proves that every single piece of information on the chief minister's daily routine is being passed to the BJP government at the Centre. The central government is misusing its powers to spy on the Delhi CM since the police in his security comes directly under the federal government," the AAP stated.

The party said that BJP cannot come to terms with its defeat in the 2015 Assembly elections. "That is the reason why BJP has been conspiring against CM Arvind Kejriwal," it added.

Talking to a news channel in Punjab on Friday, Kejriwal had said, "I will be murdered like Indira Gandhi by my PSO [Personal Security Officer] one day. BJP is after my life, they will murder me one day."

Responding to Kejriwal and his party's allegations, Delhi Police said that their security personnel guarding the AAP chief are dedicated professionals who are "committed to their job".

On Saturday, AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj had said his party does not trust Delhi Police which is under the direct control of the Union Home Ministry.

Questioning the police over attacks on Kejriwal in the recent past, Bhardwaj said, "After becoming Chief Minister, he has been attacked at least six times in presence of the police. Even after such incidents, no action was taken."

"The security unit of Delhi Police is a professional set up of well-trained personnel who are thoroughly committed to their job and performed duties with a high level of dedication and professionalism," Delhi Police said in a statement to ANI.

It added, "The unit has been providing security cover commendably for several high dignitaries of all political parties. The security personnel posted in the security team of honourable chief minister, Delhi are equally well committed to their duties."
