Bhopal: An Independent MLA of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Bimal Chopra, on Monday created a flutter by entering into the House wearing a slogan-scribbled shirt to cast vote in the presidential elections.

Mr Chopra, who was wearing a shirt appended with a poster in which a pro-farmer slogan was written, was not allowed to cast his votes on the ground that campaigning in any form has been disallowed in the “polling station”. However later, the Chhattisgarh MLA cast his vote by covering his shirt with a jacket.

All the 90 MLAs in the Chhattisgarh Assembly cast their votes. Former chief minister Ajit Jogi’s son Amit said he cast his ballot for Opposition candidate Meira Kumar.

The junior Jogi has recently been expelled from Congress for in connection with alleged fixing of Antagarh assembly by-election helping ruling BJP win the seat comfortably by defeating the Congress candidate a couple of years ago.
