New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain BJP MP Soumitra Khan's plea seeking direction to transfer the cases registered against him from West Bengal Police to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or any other agency.

A two-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi refused to hear his petition which claimed that cases registered against him were "politically motivated."

The Calcutta High Court had barred him from entering his constituency in Bankura district after a cheating case was registered against him.

The Supreme Court later allowed him to enter the constituency for filing his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha polls.

Khan, who crossed over to the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections, was elected from Bishnupur constituency in West Bengal.
