Bhopal: Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee working president and MLA Ram Dayal Uike has once again stirred a row by exhorting people to hit ruling BJP leaders with empty liquor bottles when they came to them to canvass for votes.

A purported video in which Mr Uike was heard asking the people at a public meeting in Korba in Chhattisgarh to hit the BJP leaders with empty liquor bottles has gone viral, sparking a controversy.

Mr Uike was heard saying the clip that the BJP government in Chhattisgarh has taken over liquor business and inflated prices to liquor with the objective of mobilizing money to purchase votes in the upcoming assembly elections in the state, due in November this year.

“Beat the BJP leaders with empty liquor bottles when they come to you,” he said.
