Lucknow: Former Samajwadi minister Narad Rai, who had joined the Bahujan Samaj Party a few months ago, has now resigned from the BSP.

“The coordinator of the party has turned into a collection agent of the party. I had complained to Mayawati but she did not respond which forced me to take the decision and resign,” he told reporters.

Mr Narad Rai had left Samajwadi Party just before the Assembly polls after he was denied ticket and contested the elections on BSP ticket but lost. Mr Rai is considered a follower of Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Mr Rai, however, thanked Ms Mayawati for giving him the Assembly ticket. “I am a disciple of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Janeshwar Misra and know how to fight my battles,” he further added.
