New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday came down heavily against the NDA government’s alleged failure to prevent the Naxal attack on the convoy of elite C-60 commandos in Maharashtra’s Gadhchiroli district, in which 15 personnel were killed on May 1, and termed it as a major intelligence failure.

The party said that though it’s a welcome step that Masood Azhar was declared as a global terrorist by the international community, it is extremely sad that the Gadchiroli Naxal attack did not get the requisite attention, that it deserved in the national discourse.

The main Opposition party also sought to know why Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not have anything to say on the incident except for a solitary tweet.
