As part of BJP’s election strategy for the coming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi could address a massive rally in Lucknow on December 25, when party’s “parivartan yatras” are likely to culminate. December 25 is also the birth anniversary of BJP patriarch and former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee.
Four “parivartan yatras,” led by senior leaders, will start from four different regions — Saharanpur, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra and Balia — likely on November 5, 6, 8 and 9 respectively and would culminate in Lucknow. BJP president Amit Shah, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Kalraj Mishra, Uma Bharti and state unit chief Keshav Prasad Maurya along with other leaders would flag-off these yatras. These yatras would cover each block in each of the four regions. In Saharanpur, the yatra will likely commence from Sakambaridevi Temple while in Lalitpur it could be flagged off from the Jain Tirthankar Temple. In Balia, the yatra could commence from freedom fighter Mangal Pandey’s statue.
The yatra from Sonbhadra could see traditional rituals of the region to be part of the flag off ceremony. Mr Shah is reaching Lucknow on October 14 to give a final shape to the “Parivartan Yatras.”
