Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday, termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “selfie-taking and promise-making machine” and added that he was competent in creating hatred among people.
Addressing farmers in Jalaun and Kanpur Dehat during his on-going Kisan yatra, Mr Gandhi said, “Mr Narendra Modi made different promises—of putting Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts of people, ensuring a fair price for farmers and giving employment to two crore youth. What happened Nothing.”
He said that Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christians used to live peacefully in the country. “During this yatra, I have seen temples stand alongside mazars and this is how people live here, but these people (BJP) come and make Hindus fight with Muslims. In Haryana, they pitted Jats and non-Jats against each other. We were in the government for 10 years but there were no riots,” he said. Mr Gandhi said that the much-promised “achchhe din” had come only for the PM and his industrialist friends.
