India gets set to welcome UK royals on April 10

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge — Prince William and Kate Middleton — will begin a week-long visit to India and Bhutan from April 10 to 16, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) said in New Delhi.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge — Prince William and Kate Middleton — will begin a week-long visit to India and Bhutan from April 10 to 16, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) said in New Delhi. The royal couple will visit Mumbai on April 10 and 11 which will be followed by a visit to New Delhi on April 11 and 12.

MEA officials said India was looking forward to the visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a lunch for the couple on April 12, the MEA said. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will then leave for Assam to visit the Kaziranga National Park. This will be followed by a visit to Bhutan. The couple will then return to India to visit the iconic Taj Mahal at Agra on April 16 after which they will return to the UK.

On the visit to Mumbai, the British high commission said, “Film actors, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Rishi Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar, and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will be amongst the many stars welcoming them.”
