Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team of the city police on Tuesday filed a petition in a Delhi court seeking the transfer of alleged Lashkar-e-Tayyaba operative Abdul Karim Tunda on a prisoner transit warrant in connection with a 1998 case registered in the city. Tunda is Accused No. 22 in the case regarding the arrest of a Pakistani national, Saleem Junaid, who was allegedly working under instructions from the Pakistani ISI and was accused of transporting explosives in a truck. City police filed the application before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Delhi. Tunda was produced in the court by Delhi police on Monday and remanded to judicial custody till October 15. The court will decide on the city police’s petition of a transit warrant after hearing from the Delhi police. SIT, in its memo said, “The case was booked against Tunda on July 2 in 1998. ISI activities are going on in order to wage war against the government and and to cause damage to internal security of India.”
