The body of a minor girl was found on Monday morning from a drain barely 700 metres from the chief minister’s residence and adjacent to the DGP office where there is adequate police presence. The girl, Unnati Sharma was a student of Class 12 in the RLB School, had gone missing on way to school about five days ago. The body was found in a drain near the DGP office. Her parents had lodged a complaint with the Jankipuram police that the girl had left for school to take her examinations but went missing on the way. Her father told reporters on Monday that if the police had acted on time, the girl could have been saved. He apprehended that she had been raped and then murdered. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further investigationsare on.
