As the Narendra Modi government comes under Opposition attack over growing incidents of intolerance, the VHP on Saturday claimed that there is an effort by the “so-called secularists” to give communal colour to incidents to defame Mr Modi and the ruling party.
Asserting that minorities in the country are not ignoramus to let themselves be used for vote-bank politics, the Sangh Parivar affiliate claimed that Hindus are being made to feel apologetic for something which the “so-called secularists” are responsible for.
Trying to link the recent incidents, including the Dadri lynching case, with the ongoing Assembly elections in Bihar, the VHP’s Surendra Jain said efforts are on to vitiate the atmosphere by some political outfits and their supporters by trying to defame Mr Modi. “Will these incidents still be reported after elections are over (in Bihar)... said the VHP’s joint general secretary.
