The Economic Survey for 2015-16 was tabled in Parliament by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday.

Here are the highlights of the Economic Survey, 2015-16:
12.10 pm: GDP growth rate for 2016-17 to be in the range of 7% to 7.75%
12.15 pm: Increase in wages recommended by the 7th Pay Commission not likely to destabilise prices, will have little impact on inflation.
12.20 pm: Upcoming budget and economic policy will have to contend with an unusually challenging and weak external environment.
12.25 pm: Government will meet its fiscal deficit target of 3.9 per cent of GDP.
The survey, a flagship annual document of the Ministry of Finance, reviews the developments in the economy over the previous 12 months, which summarises the performance on major development programmes, and highlights the policy initiatives of the government and the prospects of the economy in the short to medium term.
