Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday reiterated that he did not need lessons in patriotism and nationalism from the RSS and the BJP that have been attacking him for supporting “anti-nationals” on the JNU row.
“Rashtrabhakti mere khoon mein hai... I do not need to learn about this from the RSS and the BJP. A situation has developed in the country where efforts are being made to suppress all voices of dissent,” he told mediapersons in Rae Bareli on Friday.
Mr Gandhi was interacting with farmers in Salon, which is a part of Amethi constituency. He said, “Prices of pulses have gone so high for the first time in the BJP regime and the Prime Minister is yet to fulfil his promise of giving Rs 15 lakhs to each individual.”
Mr Gandhi promised to raise issues related to farmers and their problems in Parliament and accused the Modi government of forgetting its election promises.
Meanwhile, BJP activists continued to protest against the Congress vice president and burnt his effigies in Jagdishpur and Gauriganj.
BJP activists shouted slogans ‘Rahul Gandhi wapas jao’ in Rae Bareli and Amethi to protest against the Congress MP’s support to JNU leaders.
