The news that 1993 serial blast mastermind Dawood Ibrahim is soon to kick the bucket owing to gangrene that is spreading quickly has taken the Indian media by storm, prompting close watchers to wonder if a successor to the infamous 'D-Gang' may be announced soon.
According to a CNN-News18 report, India's most wanted terrorist has been left crippled by gangrene in the leg. The condition has been attributed to high blood pressure that the don is suffering from. It has resulted in improper blood flow to the tissues in his leg. The gangrene is producing toxins which is spreading to the rest of his body, forcing the doctors to suggest the option of amputating his legs.
Reports of Dawood's ill health went rife after doctors were seen near his Clifton area residence in Karachi. Dawood is now receiving treatment a the Liaquat National Hospital and the Combined Military Hospital in Karachi as Pakistan’s ISI, who’s protection he enjoys, is not keen on moving him out of the city.
The 60-year-old is likely to be succeeded by his right hand man Chhota Shakeel, but reports have emerged quoting Shakeel denying the whole news, and claiming his boss to be ‘perfectly fit’.
