UP: Farrukhabad magistrate, medical heads removed after 49 infants die

Farrukhabad (UP): In yet another tragedy after Baba Ragav Das (BRD) medical College and Hospital, 49 children were reported dead at the district hospital at Farrukhabad due to lack of oxygen allegedly.

Farrukhabad District Magistrate, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of district women hospital were removed after the death loss of innocent lives.

An FIR was earlier lodged against both CMO, CMS on Sunday by the city magistrate, official sources said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath swept into action soon after getting the reports of the incident shown on local channels about death of 49 children in the hospital and directed District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar to conduct a probe.

The probe confirmed that the deaths were due to shortage of oxygen.
