First, the UP police went around chasing stolen buffaloes and then they had a problem in dealing with a monkey that has started snatching gold chains.

Monkeys have also posed a security problem when they made the chief minister’s office their home and started chasing away security personnel. A “langur” was employed at Rs 10,000 per month to drive away monkeys.

If that was not enough, a chicken in Kanpur led to a communal clash and was even detained and booked for rioting by the cops.

The state police now have to deal with a dog that accidentally got locked in the secretariat building over the weekend and ripped off files and important papers pertaining to the personnel and education department in the high-security building. The dog apparently had to go without food and water and even ripped off leather upholstered furniture in the room. The state has now ordered an inquiry into the incident and the axe is bound to fall on those security personnel who were on duty.
